This can be due to airbag, weight and/or other sensors in the factory seat that are not included in an aftermarket seat. It may be possible to eliminate these indicators with an electronic resistor, but it is up to the end user to determine if a resistor will work and which resistor to use.

A 1998-2005 Mazda MX-5 Miata is built to be driven hard, and the factory seat is usually the first thing that stops keeping up. Once the tires, brakes and suspension are sorted, you start sliding around in the stock seat mid-corner. A proper bucket fixes that, and it needs a solid base underneath it.

This Sparco 600 Series low-profile base is designed for side-mount racing seats. It sets the mounting point so the seat sits as low and as far back as the chassis allows, which is the quickest way to recover headroom with a helmet on.

It's made from 3/16" steel with a black wrinkle powder coat and bolts to the factory seat mounts. A set of side mounts is needed to complete the install.

This is the driver/left base, sold individually. Order the passenger side separately for a matched pair. Confirm your seat's dimensions against the cabin before ordering. Removing the factory seat can trigger airbag or occupancy warning lights, which may need a resistor. Professional installation is recommended.
