• Many vehicles have the steering wheel offset toward the center of the vehicle. This can be accentuated when installing an aftermarket seat of a different size than the factory seat.
• Replacing a factory seat with an aftermarket seat may cause the vehicle's warning indicators to activate. This can be due to airbag, weight and/or other sensors in the factory seat that are not included in an aftermarket seat. It may be possible to eliminate these indicators with an electronic resistor, but it is up to the end user to determine if a resistor will work and which resistor to use.

The 2014-2020 BMW i8 has more grip and speed than its factory road seat can comfortably support on track. A proper bucket keeps the driver located so steering and pedal inputs stay precise under high lateral load. It needs a mount that treats the car with the same care as the rest of the build.

Planted brings each vehicle into its development center and builds the bracket to the actual floor, which is why it bolts in rather than needing modification. Construction is 3/16" laser-cut steel, hand-welded in the USA for full penetration, with a black powder coat finish and three rounds of quality control.

Pre-slotted hole patterns cover most major slider brands, including Recaro, Sparco, OMP, Cobra, Corbeau, Momo and NRG. This Standard bolt-pattern version includes the Recaro pattern. Wide Cobra and Scheel-Mann sliders need one hole on each slider elongated by 1/8". If you'd rather delete the sliders to lower the seat, there's room to drill for a direct mount or side mounts.

This is the passenger/right bracket, sold individually. The driver side is SB446DR. Confirm your seat's dimensions against the cabin before ordering. Removing the factory seat can trigger airbag or occupancy warning lights, which may need a resistor. Professional installation is recommended.
