Every time an ice-based cooling system is filled, water and melting ice carry minerals and residue into the pump, valves and lines. Over a season that buildup does damage: flow drops, the pump works harder, and components wear out early. The Chillout Systems IceBox Maintenance Formula is Chillout's answer, and it's a required part of running an IceBox rather than an optional extra.

The formula does three jobs in one dose. It cleans out damage-causing residue and mineral buildup. It lubricates the pump, valves and lines to keep circulation smooth. And it inhibits corrosion throughout the system. Chillout specifies it for every fill and warns that skipping it will degrade performance and shorten the life of the system.

Dosing is simple. For the 17L IceBox, add 2 oz with every fill. If you're using it in another personal ice-based cooling system, follow that system's dosing instructions. The formula is biodegradable and comes in a 50.7 fl oz (1.5 L) stand-up pouch with a resealable spout, so it pours cleanly in the paddock and stays sealed in the trailer between events.

Store it at room temperature and keep the pouch sealed. If the formula freezes in cold-weather storage or transit, thaw it to room temperature and shake it well before use.
