Arai SKV-R Karting Helmet - K2025 / FIA8878
The Arai SKV-R is a purpose-built karting helmet certified to Snell K2025 and FIA 8878-2024, succeeding the long-running SK-6 with a fully updated feature set. It's built around Arai's proprietary cLc (Complex Laminate Construction) shell, strong enough to allow a notably softer EPS liner tuned for both comfort and impact energy management. Designed from the ground up for kart racing rather than adapted from a car or bike helmet, the SKV-R is aimed at drivers who take their seat time seriously. Available in sizes XS through XL.

The Arai SKV-R is the successor to Arai's well-established SK-6, built specifically for kart racing rather than repurposed from an automobile or motorcycle platform. Certified to both Snell K2025 and FIA 8878-2024, it carries forward the karting-specific design input Arai has gathered from decades at the top levels of motorsport, translated into a helmet sized and shaped around the karting seating position and helmet-to-collar clearance kart racing demands.
The shell is built from Arai's proprietary cLc (Complex Laminate Construction), a strong, smooth composite layup that gives Arai the structural margin to spec a notably softer EPS liner than a stiffer shell would allow. That combination is the core of the SKV-R's approach: a shell strong enough to manage impact energy on its own, paired with a liner tuned for comfort and energy absorption rather than working overtime to compensate for a harder shell.
For drivers upgrading from an older SK-series lid, the jump to K2025/FIA 8878-2024 certification matters — sanctioning bodies are increasingly specific about which cert dates they'll accept, and running a helmet certified to the current standard keeps you from getting turned away at tech inspection as older Snell ratings age out of eligibility.
The SKV-R is available in White, sized XS through XL. A PED (Pro-Shade electrochromic-style visor/accessory) kit is available as an optional accessory and is sold separately.
